A studio gives you control. That is its whole value — a white cyclorama, consistent light, no weather, no surprises. It is also the reason so much brand imagery now looks identical.
For a product launch or a brand campaign, the thing that makes an image stop somebody mid-scroll is usually context. A kitchen appliance in a real kitchen. Furniture in a room somebody could live in. A drink beside actual water, in actual afternoon light.
That is what a farmhouse gives you that a studio cannot, and why an increasing number of brands in Delhi NCR are shooting their catalogue days outside the city.
What a farmhouse gives a product shoot
Real interiors instead of built sets
Building a convincing domestic set costs money and takes a day of pre-light before anyone shoots anything. A farmhouse with multiple villas hands you finished interiors — living areas, bedrooms, verandahs, staircases — each with its own palette, already lit by real windows.
For home, decor, appliance and furniture brands this collapses an entire production line item.
A kitchen you can actually shoot in
Working kitchens are genuinely hard to find as locations. Most are too small to fit a camera and two lights, or too domestic to look aspirational, or belong to somebody who does not want a crew in them.
For food, beverage and FMCG work, a functioning kitchen on the property — one where the food can also be cooked rather than just styled — is usually the deciding factor.
Volume without a company move
Catalogue days live or die on how many looks you can clear before light goes. A property with an exterior, several interiors, water, lawns and an approach lets you shoot six to ten distinct setups without loading a single case into a vehicle.
That is the real economics of an outdoor location. Not the day rate — the number of usable frames per shift.
What to sort out before the day
Power for continuous light
Product work runs long and runs hot. Continuous lighting, monitors, tethered laptops and charging all pull load for ten hours straight, and a grid cut in the middle of a colour-critical set is expensive.
Confirm generator backup for the full shift, not just an inverter for the house.
A clean, secure holding area
Product shoots arrive with stock. Sometimes a lot of stock, sometimes expensive stock. You need a lockable room to hold it, unpack it and stage it, separate from where the crew eats.
Ask for a dedicated room and confirm who has keys.
Styling and prep space
Stylists need table space, a plug, and somewhere to steam. Food stylists need the kitchen, and they will need it from before call time. Ask whether kitchen access can start early and whether their own equipment can come in.
Feeding the unit
A brand shoot with client attendance means the client is also on location all day. A property that caters lunch on site — properly, for everybody — quietly removes the most common source of an awkward afternoon.
Why weekdays make sense
Brand and e-commerce shoots are weekday work by nature. Agencies, clients and stylists all operate Monday to Friday, and that happens to be exactly when farmhouses near Delhi are empty.
A weekday booking means the property is not turning over guests around you, the pool is undisturbed, the lawns are not being reset for an event, and you can hold consecutive days for a multi-day catalogue push.
Shooting a launch, not just a product
Product launches increasingly need more than packshots. There is the hero film, the behind-the-scenes cut, founder pieces to camera, lifestyle stills, social verticals and a press set.
Trying to get all of that from a studio means either a very large studio or several days. A property with distinct zones lets one unit move between a product set, an interview set and a lifestyle set through the same day, with the same lighting team.
Brands that plan it this way generally come out with a full content bank from a single shift.

Before you book anywhere
Count the setups on the recce with your shot list open. Confirm full-shift power. Secure a lockable room for stock. Get kitchen access times in writing if food is involved. Sort crew lunch before the day. And book a weekday if the calendar allows it.
Context is the thing a studio cannot sell you. It is worth getting the logistics right to go and find it.
